Your country is certainly producing quite a few quality tennis players, kudos to your tennis association. Call me crazy, but I think Volandri, if in form, can go deep someday at Roland Garros.
gl with the play. Have a good day.

This is a joke right?
Volandri plays well in a couple clay tournaments each year, then goes missing.
He has a nice backhand and good movement, but his serve and forehand are pathetic.
No way he will ever be in the running for a slam.
Hope 1 said:take it easy pal, everyone is entltlted to his or her owm opinion
Your right his serve is pathetic, BUT on clay as you know it's less of a factor-- SEE CORIA, who was dominate on clay for two yrs despite a useless serve. That's why his record on all other surfaces stinks, because of that horrific serve. And no, IMO his forehand is NOT pathetic.
BTW i said if IN GOOD FORM he can go deep into RG (ONLY RG), and not nec win it!! Re-read posts closely before you go nutty on someone.
Hope 1 said:btw, my assertion that Volandri MAY IF IN GOOD FORM go deep into RG (ONLY RG!!!) is because he is a solid clay courter, and with the recent demise of Gaudio and Coria (and the aging Juan Carlos and Moya), the door is opening for some other players to potentially shine at RG, given the stars line-up, so to speak.
Volandri- 30-17 on clay, only Almagro ( a brilliant potential star on clay for yrs to come) had more wins on this surface.
-he has BEATEN on clay the following-- Almagro, Moya, Nalbandian, Robredo , took a set off Nadal at Davis Cup, Massu, Canas, Berdych, Djokovic, Gasquet and Davydenko.
my comment wasn't entirely off base, yet you choose to mock it. Volandri has to prove that he can take his game to the next level and perform in the big tounies--clay TMS events and RG
we try in this tennis section to be civil and not ridicule others. You made an assertion that Luczak is a 'good clay courter'--obviously a few of us could have taken you on that (hey, everyone's defintion of 'good' is different , I suppose), BUT NO ONE DID.
have a good day, thks for sharing your picks today and good luck

Coria is a class above Volandri in all aspects of the game. Sure Guille has lost his way a little, but he will be back. I wasn't trying to insult you, I was just trying to point out that Volandri is merely a journeyman.
With guys like Rafa, Davydenko, Nalbandian, Djokovic, Gonzalez, etc. It is VERY HARD to see him ever going deep into RG.

I never said Luczak was top shelf, or that Luczak will go deep into RG, and I don't think he ever will.
If you saw Luczak play Chela in the exhibition match after the Argentina v Australia Davis Cup tie this year, then you would understand what I meant. Luczak beat him in straight sets.
Luczak also beat Fernando Gonzalez in South America last year. Luczak is a streaky player who will have the odd good result, that is all I meant about saying that he is "good".
"Good" is also a relative term, relative to Federer Luczak is terrible, but relative to the other Australian players, Luczak is "good". Don't read everything so literally, and it's a good idea to try and read a little between the lines sometimes.

Hope 1 said:no doubt Coria WAS a class above Volandri, not sure about that anymore. He has a new coach, no changes tho. Ever since the shoulder surgery and the change in serving technique this is a different man. Fantastic court coverage, footwork. I 'hope' he comes back, time will tell
I'm not a Volandri 'lover'-- the above players you mentioned would all be favs over him on clay. On clay YOU NEVER know, and the one major when nutty stuff can happen is RG. BTW those aforementioned names you mentioned, Volandri has beaten them all on clay.
Enough from me on this.
are you Jim from MTF?......did BG ban you again?
